The story of the night was rookie pitchers Adam King and Christian Zellner shutting down a baffled Lakers offense who managed only one hit in their combined 5 innings pitched.  For it being their first time on the mound this year King and Zellner showed they are ready to become aces of the staff and bring some much needed depth to the rotation. King would set the pace, and Zellner would shut the door.  Zellner would strike out 6 of the 7 batters he faced allowing only a walk in his 2 innings pitched.

Though the Knights defense wasn't tested often, in the fourth inning rookie
Jeremy Koopmeiners would run down a deep fly ball in the right field corner and make a spectacular catch saving multiple runs in the inning.  Jeremy would also get his first hit as a Knight later in the game.

Great pitching, great defense, and at the right times great offense.  Even though it is early in the season and the team has hardly had enough time to even practice, this team looks like they're ready to make some serious noise in the Skyline league in 2012.
