The Knights traveled to New Richmond, Wisconsin to take on the Millers on what would turn out to be a beautiful summer night and a tough played game. The Knights would stumble in the field during the game giving up 5 errors and making many more mental mistakes: missing cuts, throwing to the wrong bag, not being prepared for situations. But the Knights would fight hard and would make the plays when they absolutely needed to.
Going into the bottom of the 9th inning the Knights would commit an error on a ball that should have been an easy double play. It would allow the bases to get loaded with one out with the tying run moving to third and the winning run to second. Instead of getting down and losing focus the Knights would show they have the mental toughness to bounce back. The very next Miller batter would allow another shot at the same exact play. This time the Knights would turn a picture perfect double play to end the game and the hopes of the Millers and their comeback.
Overall a great game. To become a good team you need to show you can come back from many different situations and find a way to win. This was a great example of how the team has turned the corner this year and now have confidence in their abilities. They have moved to 10-13 overall and 6-2-1 in league play. Thanks to the Millers for allowing us to come play at their park and good luck with the rest of your season.
