The Knights moved to 4-2-1 in league play after defeating a tough Woodbury Legends team under the lights at their home field in White Bear Township. The Knights saw good pitching, good defense, and clutch hitting in the game.
The offense got started early in the game with Toby Kaplan starting things off with a clutch 2 RBI double to right-center. The Knights would score a third run when the next batter Frank Matteson lined a single up the middle for another RBI.
Frank Matteson (2-0) took the mound and saw great support behind him through out the night. He would go all 7 innings and the only run he would allow would be from an error he committed. Not a great way to lose a shutout! He would move to 3-0 on the season after pitching his second straight complete game.
Next up: the Knights have a double header Sunday against their league opponent the Saint Paul Mudhens. Both games are at White Bear Township starting at 4:00pm.
