Friday night baseball under the lights.  What could be better on a hot Minnesota summer night?  The 3-2-1 Knights take on the 2-2 Woodbury Legends in a league game at 8:00pm.  So far this season the Legends have split two series against the Saint Paul Mudhens and the Saint Anthony Hogs.  This is the first time this year the two teams will face.

So far this year the Legends have relied on their pitching and defense to carry them to a 2-2 record.  In 4 games the Legends have lost by 3 and lost by 1, and won by 2 and won by 1 totaling a 13-14 run differential in the games.  The Knights have proven they have good pitching and defense this year.  Getting their bats going early will be key to getting a win tonight.  First pitch at 8:00pm.

The Knights moved to 4-2-1 in league play after defeating a tough Woodbury Legends team under the lights at their home field in White Bear Township.  The Knights saw good pitching, good defense, and clutch hitting in the game.

The offense got started early in the game with Toby Kaplan starting things off with a clutch 2 RBI double to right-center.  The Knights would score a third run when the next batter Frank Matteson lined a single up the middle for another RBI.

Frank Matteson (2-0) took the mound and saw great support behind him through out the night.  He would go all 7 innings and the only run he would allow would be from an error he committed.  Not a great way to lose a shutout!  He would move to 3-0 on the season after pitching his second straight complete game.

Next up: the Knights have a double header Sunday against their league opponent the Saint Paul Mudhens. Both games are at White Bear Township starting at 4:00pm.
